Dr. Michael Lane Morris Michael (Lane) Morris is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs and the Sarah Ellen Skinner Professor in Management at the College of Business Administration at The University of Tennessee.
Dr. Morris is a past president of the Academy of Human Resource Development. Dr. Morris’ research interests include: Strategic HR, Leadership Development/Executive Coaching, Work/Life Balance, and Stress/Health/Wellness. His work has appeared in journals such as Organizational Research Methods, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Family Relations, Advances in Developing Human Resources and many others. Dr. Morris also serves on numerous editorial boards in management, human resources, and family science. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Tennessee. He also holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry/Biology from Lee University, as well as, a Master of Divinity degree with emphasis in leadership, development, and counseling. Prior to his employment transition into higher education, Dr. Morris worked as a metallurgical R & D Project Engineer for Teledyne Firth Sterling.
